A new Samsung Solstice, all cool and fancy with touch screen and bluetooth. Here are instructions to sync it with Macintosh.

The new Samsung Solstice (AT&T) doesn't have support out of the box for Macintosh.  The CD in the box has no Mac software and the OSX Sync Services have no support for Samsung Solstice (Model A887).

Answer found here works but only if you read the entire post with comments.

Here is a synopsis:

1. Download the Universal Sync Plugin from http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=UK&CttFileID=1940415&CDCttType=SW&ModelType=N&ModelName=SGH-F480&VPath=SW/200806/20080603182103296_Samsung_Unified_iSync_Plugin.dmg

Just incase this link breaks in the future, a copy of the package is here.

2. Run the installer.

3. Use a text editor to open this file:

Macintosh HD -> Library -> PhonePlugins -> Samsung_Unified_iSync_Plugin.phoneplugin -> Contents -> Resources -> MetaClasses.plist

4. Find the section that begins:

Add this line

Save and close the file.

[Because of permissions, I found it easier to open the MetaClasses.plist file, make the update, and then save to the Desktop with the same .plist file extension. Then drag that newer file back into the original Resources folder. You'll have to know your machine's Admin name and password to overwrite the old file.]

5. Pair the phone with the Mac via Bluetooth.

6. Open iSync and configure for Addressbook and iCal syncing.
