I installed the newest iPhone operating system 4.2 today. I was most interested in being able to print from the iphone.

It turns out that it works with only special printers.

But if you leave your iMac on all the time, you can install this very simple piece of software that shares the printer that you already have.

Printopia -- http://www.ecamm.com/mac/printopia/

You can demo it for 7 days and buy it for $9.95.

When you print from your iPad, it goes to the mac first and then to the printer.

It works very well. It is very fast and also gives you the option to print to your computer and it automatically can save it as a PDF to a folder and opens it in Preview. It startled me that it was so fast.

The only down side is that it doesn't work from home. You can't work on your iPad and print while at Starbucks and then pickup the printout at home. That would be cool too.
